Fusing traditional burlesque with modern looks, the Va Va Voom Burlesque Vixens put on shows that titillates and leaves the audience clutching their sides with laughter and begging for more. The two troupe leaders, Kitty and Ophelia, met while competing in a pin-up pageant in 2010. Kitty was crowned Miss Inked Hearts that year, and the following year she turned her crown over to Ophelia. The two girls established a strong connection at the two events and decided to form a burlesque troupe. They dubbed themselves “The Cox Sisters, Kitty and Opheila” and held auditions for what is now the Va Va Voom Burlesque Vixens. The troupe is now 10 girls strong, complete with a comedian MC.They have since performed in a variety of venues from stageless 40-capacity person bars to nightclubs that hold hundreds. While the performers all range in age, size and shape, they all share a love for burlesque and the art of the tease.
